Hey Mommy Look What I Found!

It's a whole new world when you can explore things within your own home that you weren't able to get to just a few days ago.
Zack started crawling...for real...on Friday, today he figured out how to pull himself up onto our furniture.
yes buddy, you did that

notice the coaster on the floor from the discovery of the end table
I just now started crawl proofing...now I have to move everything to a higher shelf.
good bye pumpkin candy dish AKA my only fall decoration
The only problem is he hasn't figured out how to get himself down without falling...which happens a lot.
this could be bad

oh no...

and he proves me wrong by catching himself

I'm just here chillin' in my cool fire truck pj's

Zack's first REAL crawl...

Zack started crawling backwards at the end of his 6th month.  I thought he would never crawl forwards and I was so hoping he would figure it out.  A lot of people say "Don't get too excited about them crawling because then they get into everything."  He was so frustrated that it wasn't working that I hated that he was frustrated.  He made several moves forward but never forward enough to get to where he wanted.  I decided to wait to count it as a full on crawl until he gets to what he wants without stopping to make a big reach and he did it again if I move the toy he was going for.  Well it wasn't a toy he wanted, it was my little pink camera...

This was taken right after he got a flu shot...which he was super brave for...no crying!

Zack on the move...

Z has made major strides in his mobility...backwards but still moving so it counts.  In the past few weeks I have caught him in several "tight" spots:

He rolls, he scoots, he crawls backwards and doesn't stay where I put him anymore:
Meanwhile mommy goes to make herself some lunch

and there is Zack...almost reaching his goal...my computer cord

um...I think it's time to baby proof

Zack and I are trying really hard to learn how to crawl forward...I will admit that I use bribery...
Zack's favorite toy...the thing he finds no matter where it is...even if I have no idea where it is...my i-phone
Forget that...it's too much work.  I'll just play with the DVD's (yep...I moved them)

"Swimming" at Cousin Kelly's Birthday Party

Zack must be pretty cool to be invited to a pool party for his big cousin Kelly.  He didn't quite swim with the big kids though...we tried but it was a no go...again.  I don't want to force it on him but I also don't want him to be scared of the water.

he isn't a huge fan of the pool

he is much happier out of the pool
What happens when you hold a baby with a wet bathing suit on your lap?
oops

Another Solid Food Update

Zack is a big time eater...I can't wait for the teenage years when I will need to get a full time job just to keep my boy fed.  He likes most foods but is starting to show favorites.  He LOVES sweet potato, apples, pears, any kind of squash, pumpkin, mango, peaches, yogurt, oatmeal and rice cereal...He doesn't love, peas and green beans and still needs to get used to chicken.  We have tried several finger foods...actually everything you can buy at the store for a baby...and he won't eat it.  He puts everything in his mouth except finger foods.  I have tried putting food in his mouth and he looks at me like he has no idea what to do.
He did enjoy graham crackers but I don't know that he actually ate any of it.  Most of it ended up on the "snack towel" or crunched into his clothing.  Here are some photo's from his first (well second) time eating graham crackers.

I don't know what I was thinking with the paper towel

yeah...should have seen that coming..oh well nothing a vacuum couldn't take care of

hmmm which one should I eat?

I LOVE GRAHAM CRACKERS!
