The Mountains

When Adam and I met and started talking it became weird how much of our lives we had in common. Our grandparents each built vacation homes in the same year as a place for family to gather. We both spent summers up there as kids with our cousins. We went to my family home at "the lake" this summer and we just spent a weekend at "the mountains", Adam's family home.
His grandparents literally built the place right off the Blue Ridge Parkway.

There is space for kids to run and play and tons of wineries (one just across the street) for the grown-ups. Sadly my "condition" kept us from the winery this trip but we had lots of fun enjoying the cool fall weather and the changing leaves.
Zack came once when he was around 6 months old so he wasn't ably to take full advantage of the creek

the field
How beautiful

I love getting adults to clap for no reason!

the s'mores

I can't believe mommy keeps giving me these treats!

and the hill (Zack's version of rolling)

I think he's sold.
even though he didn't sleep well at the mountains he slept in our first morning back...ahhhhh
How lucky are our kids to have so many places to visit with family.
