Blanket Ball

The other day Zack made up a new game.

Basically he spreads out his blanket (or should I say tries to, gets frustrated and asks me to).  Gets his basketball and we play catch.

It doesn't seem like much since we are 3 inches apart...and catch doesn't work well when you are that close. I sometimes play keep away with him or I bounce the ball on his head.  Both of those things sound mean but he loves it.

Adam came home from work and Zack wanted him to play.  Adam couldn't figure out what he was supposed to do.  When I explained the game he asked me how I knew.

I mean really our kid makes 3 sounds and those 3 sounds equal over a hundred words..."ba, baw, tay tay...with aggressive pointing and a little demonstrating with tone changes for if you guess wrong or right.  How does that not mean mommy (ba) play ball (baw) with me on the blanket (tay, tay).

3 Weeks!

When you are looking forward to something 3 weeks can seem like a really long time...

When you have a major life event 3 weeks seems like nothing ("we have less than a month!")...

When you are this guy, 3 weeks is your whole life...

He is staying awake longer periods of time...

I cant wait to see him smile. Until then he will look at me like I'm crazy...

Big brother loves him...most of the time...

I was beginning to think he was looking more like Zack, but now he is definitely looking like Hunter...

And if you ask me Hunter is the cutest little guy ever...

My parents dropped off a cradle my dad made for my oldest cousin...all of us cousins used it now we are passing it around for our babies...Zack was in China so couldn't use it when he was a baby...but he sure does like it now.

Bath Time

Adam doesn't come home until after bath time...which means I get to give Zack a bath while playing with Hunter.  I learned quickly that I needed to feed Hunter before bath time (imagine this: me nursing Hunter rather than playing with Zack, Zack getting annoyed that our special time is taken by baby, Zack throws bath toys at us...not doing that again).
Zack actually loves having Hunter with us...the day after the nursing incident I decided to leave Hunter in the swing so Zack could have his special mommy time.  Zack wouldn't have it he wanted Hunter in the bouncy seat.
I bring my phone in the bathroom to keep track of time and I can't resist taking pictures of my handsome boys.

2 Weeks Old

Only 2 weeks?!?

 

This little guy feels like he has always been a part of our family...

I mean seriously...this kid just keeps getting cuter...

and I'm not just saying that because I am his mother...we get lots of comments from strangers...

How could you not fall in love with this face?

I know a big brother who loves little H...

And a daddy that can't get enough...

of course mama is in love...but she's the one who takes the pictures :)

Lots of people have asked if the boys look alike.  I think they look like brothers but also look very different:

 For now I notice that Hunter has a rounder face, more narrow eyes, lighter hair (and less of it), and better coloring (I am jealous).  I know this goes without saying but my boys are the cutest ever!

1 week old

This little guy is one week old...

He is super cute

I mean seriously cute...

And only cries when he is hungry

Brothers

We were all wondering how Zack would react to his baby brother.
In the car Zack had no clue there was a baby next to him.

The first few days Zack pretty much ignored Hunter and he was a little afraid of him when he cried.  It didn't take long for Zack to warm up to Hunter...
