YAY AMERICA

We are entertaining on Friday!!!!  I am having an American themed party in honor of Independence day for Adam’s Chinese co-workers.  I am making all sorts of great American summer food (blueberry cobbler, pigs in a blanket, hamburgers, potato salad, broccoli salad, smores and ice cream sandwiches) all of which I am certain the Chinese people won’t like.

On one hand I am really excited to really use my oven, to prepare familiar foods and to host a party, BUT the people pleaser in me can’t get over the fact that Chinese people typically don’t venture too far from Chinese food.  I made sure Adam warned everyone that we are having American food.   I went to Ikea to get some red, white and blue paper products.  I have star and stripe shaped ice cube trays.

I am going to make a center piece with apples cherries and blueberries.  I am making a mix of “YAY America” and popular American country/rock/pop songs.  It’s going to be like America threw up in China!
