4 Years

I am so thankful this wasn't the year of our outdoor wedding.  Talk about rain on your wedding day!
Four years ago April 4th was a beautiful day!  Beautiful in every way!

Since then it has been pretty crazy.

We moved to China...

We traveled all over Asia and Australia and New York and Amsterdam...

We had a baby...
We traveled some more...

We moved back to the states with our kid...

We renovated a house...then sold it...

We had another baby...and moved within 24 hours...

We bought a house...

Now that the craziness is behind us we hope to have a relaxing year 4.  I don't know how that will work out since we already have a huge list of things we want to do in our new house.  Plus we have these two little guys...

...and I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Our House: The Closing Date

We got a call that "there was a problem with our hardwoods" (sigh)...the contractor goes on to say "the flooring guy accidentally continued the hardwoods into the guest room" which was supposed to have the standard carpeting.  He asked me if we wanted him to tear it up and prep it for carpet...um NO.
The floors look awesome (even covered in paper)

The counter tops are beautiful

I even like the kitchen back splash that has been haunting me ever since they showed us the designers choices...seriously it made me question the whole house...should we have built from scratch so we (I) could pick what we wanted?  Seriously Lindsay...

To be honest I would have wanted a modern glass tile which wouldn't look good with the busy (in a beautiful way) counter tops.

We have tile floors in the bathrooms

We have a mailbox

We have "grass" and bushes and a tree...

(I asked them to move the tree out of the only yard we have...the contractor is taking care of it.  I told him we needed some open area to play in)

Oh yeah...we also have a closing date...APRIL 29!!!

Our House: Making Progress

OK...so I know no one will think this is as exciting as Adam and I, but this is our family memory "book".  We bought the house (well reserved it I guess) in the beginning of February with an estimated closing date of the end of March.  Until this past week there has been little progress (that I could tell) and a major setback (nothing serious just annoying...waiting for an inspector).  Finally we have dry wall...this is a big turning point because it means next comes cabinets, flooring, paint etc...all the things that make it feel like a real house.

I love all the windows and the fact that we have to rec. areas.  Adam gets the attic, the kids get the loft...the rest of the house is MINE!

Our House: the WAY before

We are so excited to move in... unfortunately the house isn't quite ready for us...

Even if spring is just around the corner it would be nice to have walls...and toilets.

Unless something else major happens we will be moving in sometime in the beginning of May!
